Please remember, the better you prepare your quilt top, the better the finished product will be.
  1. Measure your quilt. It should be measured in 3 places and squared.
  2. Check for rippled and puffy borders. Know that if borders have stretched or grown, it will be difficult or impossible to quilt them squarely.
  3. Check for seams that aren't 1/4 inch. These seams could come apart during quilting.
  4. Fold top and backing neatly (if you are including them in your package).
  5. Include your 1 yd of fabric for binding (if you are having Fat Quarter Quilters Too bind your quilt).
  6. Include your batting if you are not purchasing it from us. Remember your batting must be 6-8 inches larger than your quilt top on all sides. Please include good quality batting.
  7. Include your backing if not purchasing it from us. Remember your backing must be 6-8 inches larger than your quilt top on all sides.
Please press your backing, remove selvages, and square up your fabric. 100% cotton fabric is preferred, and please don't send sheets for backing, only quilt fabric.
  8. Unfortunately piecing imperfections cannot be corrected by quilting. Please check your quilt before sending it off for machine quilting.
  9. Please do not baste your quilt sandwich together as each layer has to be loaded separately on the long arm machine.
  10. Please label top of quilt with a safety pin if there is a defined top and bottom.
  11. We reserve the right to return a quilt to you before quilting if we find it impossible to quilt in a way of which we are proud. We want you to know we will do our very best to make it perfect for you.
